How do you get a teenager interested in the influence of chemistry on modern American society? This is the challenge posed to us by the American Chemical Society (ACS) - the world's largest scientific professionals organization in the United States today.
ACS is home to the National Historic Chemical Landmarks Program (NHCLP). Their mission is to enhance the public's recognition and appreciation of the contributions of the chemical sciences and chemical engineering to modern life and to increase the sense of pride in their practitioners. The program does this by recognizing and celebrating landmark achievements of chemists, chemical engineers, and the chemical enterprise.
Stay tuned to see how we tackled this one...
